Elmer Abbo
Executive ProducerElmer Abbo is an executive board member of the Assyrian American National Coalition and has been involved in other efforts to promote the security and prosperity of the Assyrian people in their homeland in Iraq. He is an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Chicago, where he serves as the director of clinical operations for the Section of Hospital Medicine, and teaches health policy.
AndrÈ Anton
Producer, Director, WriterAndré first got involved with filmmaking back in undergrad as a student at Wayne State University. He studied theatre with a focus on acting and directing. He was cast in lead roles as a first and second year student on the Bonstelle Theatre with no prior acting experience. Within a year, he directed and produced several stage plays on the Hilberry's Studio Theatre. He sought to hone the skills that he had developed through his stage experiences for the camera by attending the Motion Picture Institute of Michigan. Since then, he has completed two narrative short films entitled, Noble Fish (2011) and Stalemate (2011), and is the founder of Lamassu Productions, a Detroit-based film production company credited with producing his latest film Defying Deletion (2010), a documentary about Assyrian persecution in Iraq focusing on their plight since the U.S. led invasion in 2003.
Shawn Grice
Director of PhotographyOriginally hailing from Southeast Michigan, Shawn graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in pre-veterinary medicine. Soon after being accepted to veterinary school in the Caribbean he was bitten by the elusive, and ever so persuasive, 'film bug'. In early 2004, he packed up and headed to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in filmmaking. He studied at The Los Angeles Film School and has been working in the industry, primarily as a Director of Photography, ever since.
Aaron Kulik
EditorOriginally from Detroit city, Aaron obtained a bachelors degree from the College for Creative Studies (CCS) with a focus in storytelling in the live action video/film format. After graduation, he was exposed to the vibrant rhythms of deep house music from Detroit, Chicago, and New York City. The music, along with the amazing people he met in the Detroit scene, forever changed his perspective on his creative output as well as life itself. Combining traditional storytelling principles with a strong emphasis on visualization, Aaron has strived to explore and surpass the boundaries of how we associate film with music. He recently moved to Los Angeles and now balances his career between working on engaging projects as a video editor and as a live video artist.
David Bateman
ComposerDavid Bateman is an award winning composer and multi-instrumentalist with over 15 years experience in scoring music for film and television. His work has appeared in countless feature films, short films, video games, documentaries, commercials and websites. His music is described as "Cinematic Emotion" because of his ability to blend enchanting and haunting melodies with emotion grabbing rhythms. David's national advertising clients include, Ford, Daimler-Chrysler, General Motors, Match.com, Victoria's Secret, Bally Fitness, Chevrolet, Infiniti Motors and Pepsi.
Joel Porter
Sound DesignerJoel brings 26 years of audio experience to the project, having worked both in the Detroit and Los Angeles production markets. During his professional career, Joel has worked for industry giants Clear Channel Communications and Infinity Broadcasting. His professional audio experience has spanned the gap from Detroit to LA for such companies as Harmony Park Creative Group, RMS Productions, WJR, Hollywood Recording, and Zacuto Audio in Los Angeles. Currently, Joel is an instructor for Sound Department at the Motion Picture Institute of Michigan. He brings students a wealth of knowledge and practical training in production audio recording and post audio mixing. Joel is a 1980 graduate of Michigan State University with a B.A. in Telecommunications.
